TIMELESS controls
Default keyboard and controller binds, plus why shiftlock, POV, revive, and carry must be rebound early.
TIMELESS is a released Roblox 1v8 game, and the default bind set is dense enough to throw a first queue. Four ability keys, a dedicated sprint on controller, shiftlock, a POV toggle, revive, carry, emote, and a chat wheel all sit on the same hands that also steer an R6 morph. This page is the full default chart, the reason some keys overlap, and the settings pass you should do before you learn looping in How to Survive. Pair it with the one-screen keybinds tool if you want the table without the lecture, and with Getting Started if you still need the match loop.
Nothing here is platform-specific beyond Roblox input. There is no console-native TIMELESS build outside Roblox, and there is no local split-screen scheme. If a bind feels wrong, it is editable in settings. Change it. Do not wait for a patch to guess your layout.
Default keyboard and mouse
| Action | Default PC bind |
|---|---|
| Ability 1 | Q |
| Ability 2 | F |
| Ability 3 | R |
| Ability 4 | T |
| Shiftlock | Left Ctrl |
| POV toggle | V |
| Revive | R |
| Carry | C |
| Emote | G |
| Chat wheel | X |
The important collision is R. It is listed both as Ability 3 and as revive. In practice, revive is a contextual action next to a downed Emissary, and Ability 3 is the kit button you press in open space. That is still a terrible surprise the first time you try to slam a Sentinel kit and instead kneel on a body, or the first time you try to revive and fire an ability instead. Open settings after Getting Started and put revive on a key you will never confuse with your stun.
C for carry is cleaner. Use it when a body is sitting on a bad tile: fire, poison, a laser hall, a doorway Kolossos can rehit. Carrying is not a faster revive. It is a relocation tool.
Left Ctrl shiftlock is the looping bind. TIMELESS chases are camera fights as much as path fights. If you come from games that hard-lock shiftlock on Left Shift, move it. Do not leave it on a key you already use for sprint in other Roblox horror titles, or you will toggle camera while you think you are running.
V POV is not a vanity toggle. Several Entity models eat first-person or third-person in opposite ways. Mr. Doe in particular is easier to play in first person because the corruption model blocks view in third. Learn the key in the lobby so you are not hunting the keyboard during a Leap.
Q F R T are the four kit slots. Sentinel stuns, Support buildings, Survivalist coils, and Entity powers all land on this row. The wiki lists confirmed TIMELESS numbers on the character pages; if a cooldown is not written there, the kit is still being balanced after release and this controls page will not invent a digit.
G emote and X chat wheel are social. Bind them away from revive if you are the teammate who panic-clicks. A missed revive because you opened a chat wheel is a thrown round, not a funny clip.
Default controller
| Action | Default controller bind |
|---|---|
| Ability 1 | Y |
| Ability 2 | L1 |
| Ability 3 | R1 |
| Ability 4 | L3 |
| Sprint | L2 |
| Shiftlock | D-Pad Up |
| Revive | B |
| Carry | D-Pad Right |
| Emote | D-Pad Down |
| Chat wheel | X |
Controller players get an explicit L2 sprint, which keyboard players handle through Roblox movement. Treat L2 as part of looping, not as an optional jog. D-Pad Up shiftlock is easy to bump while you panic-revive on B. If that happens twice, move shiftlock. L3 as Ability 4 means a click of the left stick; do not put a panic stun there if you drift the stick during camera turns.
X is chat wheel on both keyboard and controller. Muscle memory from other games will want X as interact or revive. It is not. Revive is R / B. Interact-style actions in TIMELESS are revive and carry, not a generic E key.
Shiftlock, POV, and why the camera is part of the kit
Shiftlock lets you strafe with a locked facing, which is how you keep a generator, a doorway, or a downed teammate on screen while you loop. Turn it off when you need a fast camera whip through a large indoor map such as Horror Hotel, then turn it back on before you re-enter a chase. The maps guide is full of long sightlines and vertical drops; a camera that auto-centers the wrong way will walk you into lasers or powerlines.
POV is the other half. Third person is better for checking corners as an Emissary. First person is better when your own morph occludes the retrace, which is the Mr. Doe lesson and a useful experiment on bulky Entity kits such as Kolossos. Toggle V in the lobby, walk into a wall, and see whether your own shoulders hide the path. Do that once. Do not discover it on a generator.
Editable settings, the pass you should actually run
Open settings before the first real queue and change four things:
- Separate revive from Ability 3 if you main a kit that uses R often.
- Put shiftlock on a shoulder or key you can tap without breaking sprint.
- Confirm carry is reachable while you hold shiftlock. A carry you cannot hit in a doorway is a dead bind.
- Move emote and chat wheel off any key you smash when startled.
Then play one match on Construction or Starter Place where your only goal is “I never hit the wrong contextual key.” After that match, go back to Getting Started for generators and Last 50 Seconds, or skip ahead to Entity play if killer chance landed. The binds do not change because you became the hunter; only the meaning of Q F R T changes.
Graphics, volume, and flashing-light comfort sit in the same settings tree. TIMELESS ships a flashing-lights warning and a 16+ label. If strobe-heavy Last 50 Seconds effects are a problem, lower effects before you blame the keybinds.
Common misbinds that throw rounds
- Ability 3 and revive still sharing a panic finger, so you kneel during a stun window or stun during a revive.
- Chat wheel on X when you expected interact, especially on controller.
- Shiftlock on D-Pad Up next to D-Pad Right carry, so you flip camera instead of picking up a body.
- POV never practiced, then a first-person Mr. Doe round where the model is a wall.
- Copying Forsaken or other horror binds that do not exist in this place. TIMELESS uses the chart above.
Once the chart is in your hands, stop studying inputs and start studying jobs. Sentinels still need to know when a stun is worth it, which is a survival question. Entities still need to pressure gas, which is an Entity question. Controls only get you to the generator. They do not fill it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for TIMELESS rounds, codes, and character picks.
What are the default TIMELESS PC keybinds?
Abilities on Q, F, R, and T. Left Ctrl shiftlock, V POV, R revive, C carry, G emote, X chat wheel. Copy the same chart from the keybinds tool.
What are the default controller binds?
Abilities on Y, L1, R1, and L3. L2 sprint, D-Pad Up shiftlock, B revive, D-Pad Right carry, D-Pad Down emote, X chat wheel.
Why is R listed twice?
R is Ability 3 and the default revive. Revive is contextual on a downed Emissary. Rebind one of them in settings if you keep firing the wrong action.
Can I change TIMELESS keybinds?
Yes. Settings are editable. Move revive, carry, shiftlock, POV, emote, and the chat wheel before you learn looping in how to survive.
When should I use shiftlock and POV?
Use shiftlock to strafe while keeping a generator or body on screen. Use V to test first person on bulky Entity models such as Mr. Doe, who blocks his own third-person view.
