TIMELESS Emissary Archetypes and Roles

Three roles, not one

TIMELESS is a 1v8 horror game: eight Emissaries fill generators with gas while one Entity hunts. The living team does not win by hiding. They win by doing objectives. That is why the emissary roster splits into three roles — not cosmetic categories, but jobs with different win conditions inside a round.

The three roles are:

  • Sentinel — stun and interrupt the Entity
  • Support — stall, heal, and drop buildings and buffs
  • Survivalist — self-peel and mobility

This hub is the index. Each archetype has its own page with role breakdown, kit examples, and how to play the style in a nine-player lobby. Pair it with the emissary tier list for S/A/B ratings, the emissaries roster for kit pages, and how to survive for the fundamentals every emissary shares.

How the three roles differ

Sentinel is the interrupt role. Your job is to make the Entity’s engagements expensive. You stun a chase, cancel a grab, block a projectile, and buy time for the team to finish generators. A good Sentinel makes the Entity reconsider every commit. A bad Sentinel burns their stun on a vanity hit and is useless when the real chase comes.

Support is the stall and value role. You drop walls, turrets, dispensers, heals, and buffs that make the whole team harder to kill. Your job is not to chase — it is to make the generators and the teammates near them more durable. A good Support player is the reason a generator finishes under pressure. A bad Support places a turret where no one is generators.

Survivalist is the self-peel and mobility role. You survive the initial chase, create distance, and rotate to help teammates who are in trouble. Your job is to not die in the first engagement and to use that survival to apply pressure on the Entity from a position of advantage. A good Survivalist is somewhere the Entity is not. A bad Survivalist wastes their mobility on panic instead of rotation.

Which kit fits which role

From the emissaries roster:

SentinelShedletsky (Slash stun, Block reflect, Fried Chicken heal), BrightEyes (Beam Grapple, Periastron stun, shield), Nikilis (Murderer’s Knife slow, Sheriff’s Revolver distance stun). Shedletsky is the teaching kit for Sentinel because the stun timing is readable and the Block decision is honest.

SupportBuilderman (Ban Hammer, trowel wall, Sentry/Rocket Turret/Dispenser, HelperBot vision). Builderman is the Support teaching kit because his buildings directly stall generators and Entity pathing.

SurvivalistGuest (gravity coil punch, speed coil, regen coil), Jane Doe (Charge and Roll on a survivalist timer, corrupted arm from Mr. Doe), Noob (cart ride, rocket launcher, boombox — disruption, not pure mobility). Guest is the survivalist teaching kit because coil mobility is the clearest self-peel in the roster.

How to use a composition in a real nine

A good TIMELESS lobby is not nine of the same role. It is:

  • At least one Sentinel to cancel Entity grabs and interrupts
  • At least one Support to stall generators and drop value
  • Enough Survivalists to rotate and peel

Example compositions for a nine-player lobby:

Guest + Shedletsky + Builderman + six generators: The clean teaching composition. One Sentinel, one Support, one Survivalist with mobility, and everyone else on gas.

Jane + Shedletsky + Builderman + five: Replace Guest with Jane if Noob is taken. Charge peel is different from coil mobility but serves the same survivalist function.

Noob + Shedletsky + Builderman + six: Disruption stack. Noob’s cart, rocket, and boombox create chaos that the other two roles use to finish generators.

Do not queue four Sentinels with no Support and call it a composition. Four stuns with no generators is a lobby that runs out of time. Do not queue all Survivalists with no Sentinel. The Entity will grab whoever they want.

How to use this hub

Read the archetype that matches your kit. If you main Shedletsky, open Sentinel and confirm stun timing is your loop. If you are new to TIMELESS, start with Sentinel on Shedletsky because the job is the clearest: stun, Block, heal.

Do not skip how to survive because the archetype sounds simple. Every role still has to fill generators, revive, and rotate. The archetype is your job inside the nine. The fundamentals are universal.

Map pool after the September 2026 pass: Construction (small, Sentinel-friendly), Starter Place (medium), Yorick’s Resting Place (large), The Horror Hotel (large), Area 51, Crossroads, Town of Robloxia, Hallowsville. Sentinel stuns are honest on Construction. Support buildings block doorways on Horror Hotel. Survivalist mobility matters more on Yorick’s and Crossroads. Read the maps guide.

There are no verified public promo codes as of September 2026; the codes hub stays honest. Currency is Tix. Watch Discord and patch notes for balance changes.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for TIMELESS rounds, codes, and character picks.

What are the three TIMELESS emissary archetypes?

Sentinel (stun/interrupt), Support (stall/heal/buff), and Survivalist (self-peel/mobility). Each is a different job inside the nine-player lobby.

Which kit is the Sentinel teaching kit?

Shedletsky is the Sentinel teaching kit: Slash stun, Block reflect, Fried Chicken heal. The stun timing is readable and the Block decision is honest.

Which kit is the Support teaching kit?

Builderman is the Support teaching kit: Ban Hammer, trowel wall, Sentry/Rocket Turret/Dispenser, HelperBot vision. His buildings directly stall generators.

Which kit is the Survivalist teaching kit?

Guest is the Survivalist teaching kit: gravity coil punch, speed coil, regen coil. Coil mobility is the clearest self-peel in the roster.

What is a good lobby composition?

At least one Sentinel (to cancel grabs), at least one Support (to stall and drop value), and enough Survivalists to rotate. Not nine of the same role.

Should I read archetype pages before the emissary tier list?

Read how to survive first for fundamentals. Then open the archetype that matches your kit, then the emissary tier list.
